The Peoples’ Friendship University was founded on February 5th, 1960 by the USSR government. It is also known as RUDN university and this educational institution is located in Moscow. The purpose of founding this University was to provide quality education to Third World countries. The university was renamed as Peoples’ Friendship University in 1992 by the decision of the Government of Russia. In 1975, the University was awarded with the Order of Friendship of Peoples for its services in training specialists for Asia, Latin America, and Africa. The university also bagged UNESCO gold medal for its contribution to the training of personnel for developing countries of the world.

The University is centrally located in the capital city of Moscow.
